Easter candy to healthcare workers & the food bank

We've been closed for over two weeks now and as of now, we will at least be closed through May 4th. It's tough having all the Easter and spring items in our store and not be able to share them with our customers. However, health is of the top importance right now. I have friends who have lost family members to the coronavirus, my heart and prayers go out to them. I am so grateful to all the "front line" people who go to work every day to help those in need. Thank you to all the healthcare workers, the grocery store employees, the restaurant workers (preparing all that take-out food), the fire department and the police department. There are also many other people in other areas of employment who are working hard to help out during these tough times, I appreciate you all. A shout out to my husband Calvin, he's been working 7 days a week making sure there are items in place to prevent all our transportation workers from getting sick.

I realized last week that we had all our Easter candy to sell and we won't be open until after Easter is long over. Today I made many baskets of candy and delivered them to the Enumclaw food bank, senior center, nursing home, memory care center and hospital. A small token of appreciation for all these people out there battling this horrible virus. It was great seeing the excitement from the employees after delivering the baskets, I know they were smiling underneath their masks.

Please stay home, stay healthy and remember that now, more than ever, it's important to stay positive and kind. We will get through this!
